Bavarian suspenders

Recognizable H-shape
A traditional lederhose – with the exception of the long version – is always worn with suspenders. These are typically made of leather and are often adjustable with buckles at the front of each strap. They also feature a distinctive cross-connection at the front that runs across the chest, creating the recognizable H-shape. This chest piece, known as the Stegträger, is traditionally embroidered with region-specific designs, such as the coat of arms of Bavaria or edelweiss, often by the woman or girlfriend of the wearer. The intricate embroidery contributes to the uniqueness of the lederhose, with the authentic and beautifully stitched suspenders completing the look.
