Polka dot jersey

The measles
Despite its hip name, the polka dot sweater has little to do with fashion. It is worn by the leader of the mountains classification in the Tour de France. And that is quite an honor, because the person wearing the polka dot jersey at the end of the tour is proclaimed 'King of the Mountains'. Although the mountains classification has been kept since the Tour of 1933, the polka dot jersey was only introduced in 1975. You can come across this cycling jersey in different colors. Flemish people prefer to talk about the 'balls jersey' or 'measles jersey'.
